Jay Bhagavati Devi Namo Varade Jay Papavinashini Bahuphalade।
Jay Shumbha Nishumbha Kapaladhare Pranamami Tu Devi Narartihare।।

Meaning: O Bhagvati Devi Maa Durga!! Victory to you. We bow to you. Please bless us. O Maa Ambe who destroys our sins!! Victory to you. Please grant us the desired fruits. You have worn the heads of the demons named Shumbh-Nishumbh as a necklace around your neck. We salute you for this. You are the mother who removes the sorrows of all of us.

Jay Chandradivakaranetradhare Jay Pavakabhushitavaktravare।
Jay Bhairavadeha Nilinapare Jay Andhakadaiptyavishoshakare।।

Meaning: Both your eyes themselves are the source of light like the moon and the sun . You have energy like fire inside you and you are present everywhere like that. You are in the form of Maa Bhairavi and in that form you do good to everyone. You killed the demon named Andhak.

Jay Mahishavimardini Shoolakare Jay Lokasamastakapapahare।
Jay Devi Pitamahavishnunate Jay Bhaskarashakrashirovunate।।

Meaning: You killed the demon Mahishasur along with his army. You destroyed the evil with your might. You are the one who removes the sins of all the worlds. Even Grandfather Brahma and Lord Vishnu bow down to you. Surya and Indra Dev also worship you.

Jay Shhanmukhasayudhaishanute Jay Sagaragamin Shambhunute।
Jay Duhkhadaridravinashakare Jay Putrakalatravivriddhikare।।

Meaning: All the gods praise you with their mouths and hail you. You merge into the ocean and even Lord Shiva embraces you. You are the one who removes the sorrow and poverty of all. You are the one who blesses human beings with children and helps them in taking their lineage forward.

Jay Devi Samastashariradhare Jay Nakavidarshini Duhkhahare।
Jay Vyadhivinashini Moksha Kare Jay Vaanchitadayini Siddhivare।।

Meaning: You reside in every human body, that is, all this is created by you. You are the one who removes the sorrows of all of us and makes us see the heaven. You are the one who removes the pain of all of us and gives us salvation. You are the one who gives us the desired fruits and gives us Riddhi-Siddhi.

Etadvyasakritam Stotram Ya Pathenniyatah Shuchih।
Grihe Va Shuddhabhavene Prita Bhagavati Sada।।

Meaning: Any devotee who recites this Durga Stotra composed by Maharishi Ved Vyas Ji at a pure place or at a clean place in his home after taking a bath and with a pure mind, is definitely blessed by Goddess Durga and the Goddess remains pleased with him.
