The Shraddha of Shashthi Tithi is also performed as Chhath Shraddha . It is written in the scriptures that the Shraddha of a person who dies on the Shashthi Tithi of any month is performed on this day.

- Feed dogs, cows and crows so that your ancestors can get food.
- Make sure to feed Brahmins and give them donations.

- Do not perform any auspicious task during Shraadh.
- Don't lie.
- It is wrong to do business on interest.
- Do not create domestic discord.
- Do not consume non-vegetarian food, brinjal, onion, garlic, gram flour, cumin, mustard greens, alcohol etc.
