Wednesday is the third day of the week (Budhwar Pooja). In Hinduism, some deity or the other is worshipped every day of the week. Similarly, there is a tradition of worshipping Lord Ganesha on Wednesday. This day is very important for Lord Ganesha and it is believed that Lord Ganesha is pleased with the worship done on this day and fulfills all the wishes of his devotees.

Why is Ganapati worshipped on Wednesday:

According to legend, when Lord Ganesha was created by Goddess Parvati, Lord Budh was also present on Mount Kailash. Therefore, by worshiping Lord Ganesha on Wednesday, his representative became wise and that is why the tradition of worshiping Lord Ganesha on Wednesday was formed. According to another belief, when Lord Shiva failed to kill Tripurasura, he wondered why he failed and what was hindering his task. Then he realized that he had started fighting the war without worshiping Lord Ganesha. After this, Lord Ganesha was worshiped. Flower garlands and laddus were offered to him. When the war broke out later, Tripurasura was defeated. That is why Lord Ganesha is worshiped before any work so that the work can be completed without any hindrance.

How to please Lord Ganesha on Wednesday:

• Worship Lord Budh along with Lord Ganesha on Wednesday. This pleases Lord Ganesha and you also get the blessings of Lord Budh.
• During the service on Wednesday, make sure to offer modaks to Lord Ganesha. This eliminates the defects associated with the planet Mercury. Offering Shami leaves increases intelligence and wisdom.
• On Wednesday (Budhwar Pooja) worship Lord Ganesha and eat fennel before leaving the house. This brings success in work.
• Unmarried people should offer yellow sweets to Lord Ganesha during the seva. This creates the possibility of early marriage.

Don't make these mistakes on Wednesday:

1. According to astrology, Wednesday is considered to be the day of Lord Ganesha as well as the planet Mercury. Mercury is considered to be the planet of intelligence and speech, so on Wednesday, a person should try to control his speech. You should never use abusive words to anyone .

2. Astrology says that financial transactions should not be done on Wednesday. It is believed that if you take a loan from someone on Wednesday , you may have to face financial problems.

3. If you have to travel suddenly on Wednesday, then it is important to take special precautions during the journey. It is believed that one should not travel towards the west on Wednesday. In astrology, travelling towards the west on Wednesday is considered inauspicious.
