Naagendrahaaraay trilochanaay bhasmaangaraagaay maheshvaraay।
Nityaaya shuddhaaya digambaraay tasmai ‘na' kaaraay namah shivaay।।
In this shloka, the syllable (Na) is related to the earth element
Meaning: O Lord of gods, Mahadev! You wear King Vasuki around your neck in the form of a necklace. O Trilochan, that is, the Lord with three eyes, you are eternal (eternal and infinite) and pure, adorned with ashes. Digambara Shiva, who wears the amber/sky like a cloth, we salute your form representing “Na” i.e. the earth.

Mandarapushpabahupushpa supujitaya, Tasmai “Ma karaaya namah shivaaya।।
The word (Ma) in the verse is related to the element of water.
Meaning: Hey Maheshwar! O Lord of Nandishwar and Pramathnath, adorned with sandalwood and adorned by the stream of Ganga, you are always worshiped with flowers obtained from Mandar Mountain and often from other sources. Our salutations to you.
Shivaay Gauri-vadana-abja-vrinda Suryaay Dakshadhvaranashakaay।
Shri Neelakanthaay Vrishabhadhvajaay, Tasmai Shi Kaaraay Namah Shivaayah।।

Meaning: Oh Lord, famous by the name of Neelkanth, once when Prajapati Daksh had become extremely proud and under the influence of pride, he had insulted you too, then you had destroyed the Yagya of arrogant Daksh. Vashishthakumbhodbhava Gautamaya, Munindradevaarchita Shekharaya,
Chandaarkavaiśvānara-lochanaya, Tasmai Va Kāraya Namaḥ Shivāya.
The syllable “व” represents the element of air
Meaning: Lord worshiped by sages Vashishtha, Agastya and Gautam, the best among the gods and sages! Sun, Moon and Fire are like your three eyes. Shivji, we salute your form known by the letter “V”.
Yajñasvarūpāyajaṭādhārāya, pinākahastāya sanātanāya।
Divyāya devāya digambarāya, tasmai ya kārāya namaḥ śivāya।।
The verse indicates that (Ya) signifies the nature of space or sky
Meaning: O Lord Shiva with the Yagya form, you hold the bow named Pinak, you are eternal without beginning, middle and end, we salute your form of the letter ‘Y'.
Pañcākṣaramidaṁ puṇyaṁ yaḥ paṭhechchivasinnidhau।
Śivalokaṁvāpanoti śivena saha modate।।
Meaning: Any living being who recites this Panchakshar Stotra every Monday or every day with a pure and pure mind, becomes free from all sins and attains the virtuous world of Lord Shiva and resides happily with Lord Shiva.
