Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat Katha

Once preparations were going on for the marriage of Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi. All the gods were invited but the invitation was not sent to Vighnaharta Ganesh ji. All the gods came to the marriage with their wives but Ganesh ji was not present. Seeing this, the gods asked Lord Vishnu the reason for this. He said that invitations have been sent to Lord Shiva and Parvati. Ganesh can come with his parents if he wants. However, he needs food of 1.25 maunds of mung beans, 1.25 maunds of rice, 1.25 maunds of ghee and 1.25 maunds of laddus throughout the day. It is good if he does not come. It is not good to go to someone else's house and eat and drink so much. During this, a god said that if Ganesh ji comes, he can be given the responsibility of looking after the house. He can be told that if you go slowly on the mouse, the procession will go ahead and you will be left behind, in such a situation you should look after the house.

According to the plan, Ganesh Ji reached there on Vishnu Ji's invitation. He was given the responsibility of looking after the house. The wedding procession left the house and Ganesh Ji was sitting at the door. Seeing this, Narad Ji asked the reason for this. He said that Lord Vishnu had insulted him. Then Narad Ji gave a suggestion to Ganesh Ji. As a suggestion, Ganapati sent his army of rats ahead of the wedding procession, which dug up the entire path. As a result, the wheels of the chariots of the gods got stuck in the paths. The wedding procession was not able to move forward. No one could understand what to do. Then Narad Ji suggested calling Ganesh Ji so that the obstacles of the gods could be removed. On the orders of Lord Shiva, Nandi brought Gajanan. The gods worshipped Ganesh Ji, then the wheels of the chariot came out of the pits but many wheels were broken. At that time a blacksmith was working nearby, he was called. Before starting his work, he remembered Ganesh Ji in his mind and fixed the wheels of all the chariots in no time. He told the gods that it seems you all have not worshipped Lord Ganesh before starting any auspicious work, that is why such a crisis has come. All of you should meditate on Lord Ganesh and go ahead, all your work will be done. The gods hailed Lord Ganesh and the wedding procession reached its destination safely. The marriage of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi was completed.
