
Lord Vishnu Dash Avatar
Whenever sin increases on Earth, Lord Vishnu incarnates in various avatars to destroy it. According to religious texts, Lord Vishnu is said to have ten avatars on Earth.
1. Matsya Avatar

The Matsya Avatar is considered the first avatar of Lord Vishnu. In this form, he appeared as a fish to kill the demon Hayagriva and protect the Vedas, which Hayagriva had hidden in the depths of the ocean. Thus, Lord Vishnu in the Matsya Avatar preserved the Vedas.
2. Kurma Avatar

Lord Vishnu took the form of a turtle in the Kurma or Kacchapa Avatar. In this avatar, he held Mount Mandara on his back during the churning of the ocean, which was carried out by the gods and demons to obtain the nectar of immortality.
3. Varaha Avatar

The third avatar of Lord Vishnu was the Varaha Avatar. In this form, he appeared as a boar and rescued the Earth by killing the demon Hiranyaksha, who had hidden the Earth in the depths of the ocean.
4. Narasimha Avatar

According to the Puranas, the Narasimha Avatar is the fourth avatar of Lord Vishnu. In this form, he appeared as a half-man, half-lion to save his devotee Prahlad and kill Prahlad's father, the demon king Hiranyakashipu.
5. Vamana Avatar

In the Vamana Avatar, Lord Vishnu appeared as a dwarf Brahmin. In this form, he asked King Bali, the grandson of Prahlad, for three paces of land and then measured the three worlds with his steps, humbling King Bali's pride.
6. Parashurama Avatar

Lord Vishnu also incarnated as the devotee of Shiva, Parashurama. In this avatar, he was born as the son of Renuka and Jamadagni of the Bhrigu dynasty. He rid the world of the arrogant Kshatriyas and saved it from their tyranny.
7. Rama Avatar

In the Treta Yuga, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Rama. He was the son of King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya of Ayodhya. In this avatar, he liberated the world from the terror and sins of the demon king Ravana.
8. Krishna Avatar

In the Dwapara Yuga, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Krishna. In this avatar, he ended injustice and restored Dharma by serving as the charioteer to Arjuna in the Mahabharata war.
9. Buddha Avatar

Lord Vishnu's ninth avatar was Gautama Buddha. His name was Siddhartha, and he is considered the founder of Buddhism.
10. Kalki Avatar

According to religious texts, the final and tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu will be the Kalki Avatar. In this form, Lord Vishnu will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga to destroy all sins and evil deeds on Earth. After this, the Satyayuga will begin anew. In this avatar, Lord Vishnu will be seen riding a horse named Devadatta and will annihilate the wicked with his sword.
