Yogeśhvaro Mahāsenah Kartikeyo'gninandanaḥ।
Skandaḥ Kumāraḥ Senānī Svāmī Śankarasambhavaḥ॥ 1 ||
Meaning: Lord Kartikeya is the Lord of Yogis, the great commander of divine forces. He is known as Kartikeya, the son of Agni, Skanda, Kumara (eternal youth), the leader of celestial armies, and the son of Lord Shiva.
Gāṅgeyaḥ Tāmrachūḍaścha Brahmachārī Śikhidhvajaḥ।
Tārakārirumāputraḥ Krodhāriścha Ṣhaḍānanaḥ॥ 2 ||
Meaning: He is born from the Ganga (Gāṅgeya), wears a crown of copper-like brilliance (Tāmrachūḍa), and is a celibate (Brahmachārī). He holds a peacock as his banner (Śikhidhvaja). He is the slayer of Tarakasura (Tārakāri), the son of Uma (Parvati), the destroyer of anger, and is known as Ṣhaḍānana (the six-faced Lord).
Shabdabrahmasamudraścha Siddhaḥ Sārasvato Guhaḥ।
Sanatkumāro Bhagavān Bhogamokṣaphalapradaḥ॥ 3 ||
Meaning: He is the embodiment of the ocean of sacred sound (Shabdabrahma). He is perfect (Siddha), revered by Saraswati (Sārasvata), and known as Guha (the one who resides in the cave of the heart). He is Sanatkumara, the eternal embodiment of wisdom. He bestows both worldly pleasures (Bhoga) and spiritual liberation (Moksha).
Sharajanmā Gaṇādhiśaḥ Pūrvajo Muktimārgakṛt।
Sarvāgamapraṇetā Cha Vānchitārthapradarśanaḥ॥ 4 ||
Meaning: He is born under the Shara tree (Sharajanmā), the leader of Ganas (Gaṇādhiśa), and the elder brother of Lord Ganesha (Pūrvaja). He is the creator of the path to liberation and the author of all sacred scriptures (Sarvāgamapraṇetā). He fulfills the desires of his devotees (Vānchitārthapradarśanaḥ).
Aṣṭāviṁśatināmāni Madīyānīti Yaḥ Paṭhet।
Pratyūṣhaṁ Śraddhayā Yukto Mūko Vācaspatiḥ Bhavet॥ 5 ||
Meaning: Whoever recites these 28 names of mine with devotion every morning will become eloquent (Vācaspati) even if they were previously mute (Mūka).
Mahāmantramayānīti Mama Nāmānukīrtanāt।
Mahāpragñāmavāpnoti Nātra Kāryā Vichāraṇā॥ 6 ||
Meaning: These names are imbued with the power of great mantras. By chanting them, one attains supreme wisdom (Mahāpragñā). There is no doubt about this.
