
Panchami Shradh
Shraddha Karya is an integral part of Hindu religion. All the rites from birth to death have special importance. Shraddha Karya performed for the peace of ancestors after death is a great auspicious deed.
On Kunwara Panchami, the shraddha of the unmarried ancestors and those who died on the Panchami day is performed. Performing shraddha on Kunwara Panchami gives peace to their souls.
Why is the Shradh of Panchami called Amarhit Panchami
In the month of Ashwin, the Shraddha of the Krishna Paksha Panchami is said to have special importance. It is also called Kunwar Panchami. On this day, the Shraddha is performed for those people who either died on the Panchami Tithi and got the time of Panchami Tithi. Apart from this, those people who remained unmarried. Those who were not married are also called unmarried fathers. For this reason, it is also called as Unmarried Panchami .
At this time, Pind Daan can be done any time except Rahukaal on Kunwara Panchami.
Method of Bachelor Panchami Shradh:
- Invite an unmarried Brahmin on Kunwara Panchami.
- On the day of Panchami Shraddha, take a bath and smear the place of God and the place of ancestors with cow dung.
- After this, purify that place with Ganga water and make rangoli in the courtyard of the house.
- Prepare food for the ancestors; if possible, definitely prepare kheer.
- Get a Brahmin to perform the worship and offering of water to your ancestors.
- If you have a married sister, invite her family for a meal.
- Offer kheer in the fire for the ancestors.
- After this, keep aside four bites of food for the cow, dog, crow and guest.
- Feed the Brahmin respectfully.
- Donate clothes and Dakshina for the peace of the souls of ancestors.
What not to do:
It is important to keep some special things in mind on Kunwara Panchami;
- Do not consume onion, black salt, mustard greens, garlic, stale food, gourd, sattu, lentil, gram or meat on this day.
- According to the scriptures, ancestors become angry by eating non-vegetarian food.
- Do not do any auspicious work on the day of Panchami Shraddha.
- Do not lie and do not insult others on Kunwara Panchami.
